01
The challenge
A cracked windshield is an urgent, phone-in-hand purchase, and the shop's marketing lived in three places at once: an old website, a Google Business Profile updated by hand, and enquiries scattered across email and voicemail. Rankings built over two decades had to survive the rebuild.
02
Our approach
We rebuilt every legacy URL exactly, then layered the conversion path on top: call and quote actions visible at every scroll depth, an insurance/no-insurance claim switch, and a live weather banner that tells drivers when mobile service is paused. Behind the site sits a private dashboard where staff see enquiries, upload job photos, plan Google posts and review AI-drafted replies to reviews before anything goes out.
03
The outcome
One platform that runs the shop's web presence: neighbourhood pages across Ottawa, every enquiry stored in one place, and Google profile activity drafted by AI but always approved by a person.
Design decisions
Three choices that made the difference.
A staff dashboard, not just a website
Behind a secure sign-in, the team sees every enquiry, manages staff access, bulk-uploads job photos and chooses which ones appear on the public neighbourhood pages. The website and the shop's daily operations share one system.
AI that drafts, people who approve
Google Business Profile posts and review replies are drafted by AI from verified shop facts only. Nothing publishes without a staff member reviewing it, and scheduled posts are sent in small batches that stop at the first error.
Built for an urgent, mobile purchase
Click-to-call and Get a Quote are pinned to the bottom of every phone screen, the quote form splits insurance and non-insurance claims, and a live Ottawa weather banner tells drivers when mobile service is paused for the cold.
Two decades of rankings preserved
Every legacy quickglass.ca address was rebuilt at the exact same path, with canonicals and a sitemap pointing only at the real domain, so the redesign did not reset existing search visibility.
What the site was built to be found for
Windshield repair, windshield replacement, chip repair, auto glass and mobile service searches across Ottawa neighbourhoods — Kanata, Nepean, Orléans, Barrhaven, Westboro, Stittsville and more — overwhelmingly on mobile.
Where we would take it next
Profile insights reporting inside the dashboard and owner notifications for new enquiries once a verified sender is in place.
What we built
- —Neighbourhood landing pages with genuinely local copy for windshield replacement, repair, auto glass and car glass
- —Separate auto-glass (ADAS, fleet) and car-glass (passenger car, break-in) angles to avoid pages competing with each other
- —Insurance-aware quote and appointment forms with spam and duplicate protection
- —Private staff dashboard: enquiries, staff roles, bulk photo upload, review hub
- —Google Business Profile post planner with AI drafts, scheduling and human approval
- —Persistent mobile call / quote bar and live weather service status
Responsive build
The same site, engineered for the phone in your customer's hand.
Tap-to-call in the header, a quote action always in reach, and images sized for mobile data. The mobile view is not a shrunken desktop — it is the primary design.
